A collaboration between the MIT Institute for Medical Engineering and Science (IMES), MIT.nano, MIT Mechanical Engineering and the Clinical Research Center (CRC) has led to an IAP course this week (Jan. 26-28) called Technology for human monitoring during the COVID-19 pandemic – MIT’s approach. The class, with three modules explaining the physiological monitoring technologies used in MIT’s Covid-19 Surveillance Study, features a diverse group of speakers from departments across MIT, as well as the Massachusetts eHealth Institute at MassTech, and the Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute.

All sessions are open to the public, and there is no registration:

Here is the agenda for course revealing some of the innovations around Covid-19 at MIT today:

Module 1 will introduce the physiological monitoring technologies used in MIT’s COVID-19 Surveillance Study, a joint initiative between MIT Medical and the IMES Clinical Research Center. This course will provide a sneak peek of the newly renovated IMES Clinical Research Center and the facilities, equipment, and services available to researchers engaged in human subjects research.

Module 1A – January 26, 1:00 – 2:30pm
1:00-1:15 pm Brian Anthony, PhD Principal Research Scientist, MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering
1:15-1:30pm Catherine Ricciardi, DNP, ANP-BC Director of Clinical Research Operations, MIT Clinical Research Center
1:30-2:00pm Shawn Xiang, PhD Postdoctoral Associate, MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering
2:00-2:15pm Yuwei Li Graduate Research Student, Department of Mechanical Engineering
2:15-2:30pm Micha Feigin-Almon PhD – Research Scientist, MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering

Module 1B – January 26, 3:30 – 5:00pm
