We are delighted to call for applications for the 4th Annual Broshy Graduate Fellowship program at MIT. The purpose of this Fellowship is to support the research and education of an exceptional graduate student whose work focuses on a novel, interdisciplinary project that has a good likelihood of being translated into an innovative commercial product and/or service that positively impacts healthcare outcomes and cost. The Broshy Fellow will receive $50,000 for one year to support her/his stipend, tuition, and research. The Fellowship would begin June 1, 2018. The successful candidate will be notified in mid-May.

Eligibility

Any MIT graduate student in good standing, pursuing either a Masters or a Doctoral degree, and who has completed at least one year of study at MIT is eligible.

Application Process

The application must contain the following elements:

  1. A nomination by the faculty advisor of the student, describing the academic achievements of the candidate and why her/his project has a reasonable chance of being translated into a commercial product that will advance human health.
  2. A two-page description of the project and work planned in the next year prepared by the student candidate.
  3. The candidate’s CV and MIT transcript. An unofficial copy of the WebSIS grade report is sufficient.

The application materials should be submitted by email (imes_rfp [at] mit.edu (imes_rfp[at]mit[dot]edu)) as a single PDF using the student’s last name and first initial followed by “_BroshyFellow2018” in the document name (“LastNameFirstInitial_BroshyFellow2018.pdf”).

If the faculty advisor prefers to submit the nomination directly, it can be emailed to imes_rfp [at] mit.edu (imes_rfp[at]mit[dot]edu) with “Student Name: Broshy Nomination” in the subject line.

Applications are due by April 27, 2018.
